Welcome to the CIBV!
Battle of Vimeiro Interpretation Center (CIBV)

The mission of the Battle of Vimeiro Interpretation Center is the study, research, interpretation, preservation, dissemination and tourist activation of the historical, cultural and military heritage (material and intangible) of the Peninsular War and in particular of the Battle of Vimeiro; but also the conservation and inventory of the estate, contributing to the promotion of the identity and personal growth of individuals, essential factors for the construction of local and regional identity.

Assuming itself as a mandatory visit for all military history enthusiasts, it presents a vast program of activities that lead to short or medium-term periods of stay.

As guardian of the memory of the battle fought at Vimeiro on August 21 1808, the CIBV makes a difference because of its surroundings, as it was strategically built on the battlefield, and also because of its collections consisting of armament, uniforms, documents of the time and unique archaeological pieces that deserve the attention of visitors. Even more because of the cultural program that is developed annually and the resources and equipment that make it accessible and inclusive tourist equipment for ALL.
